No Burial

We have fought a hundred battles in our golden armor beneath the yellow sands. We will not return until Loulan has been defeated.

"You're a grown man. Why do you carry a white silk handkerchief around and give it to people?"

"Because after I die, you can use it to pay your respects to me whenever you like."

I don't know when my feelings began. I only know that I love you deeply. I'm sorry, but in the end, I have to let you down.

No one pays tribute to fallen soldiers. Their ashes are nowhere to be found. But I can come and be with you.

On the battlefield, blood sprays in every direction. Beneath the earth, could my bones be there?

This is a short story, around ten thousand words. I wrote it on a whim, and will update whenever I feel like it. If you're out of things to read, please give it a try.

A warning upfront: this story has a bad ending. If you can't handle tragic endings, feel free to drop it... Don't hit me, hehe.
