*Announcement: This story will go premium on Saturday, July 25. I’ll post ten thousand words on launch day, mwah~
In the twenty-eighth year of Emperor Wu of Liang’s reign, nineteen-year-old Xie Yushu, the top scholar in both civil and martial examinations, followed in his father’s footsteps and became chancellor. Matchmakers soon swarmed the gates of his residence, each bringing a talented and beautiful young lady from the capital in hopes of arranging a marriage.
Xie Yushu waved them all away and declared, “I’m afraid I’m a man who loves men. I like handsome men with no talent or virtue who live off their partners.”
Meanwhile, the Seventh Prince, Ye Xuan, had diligently played the wastrel for decades, all for the sake of living off Chancellor Xie.
But as he lounged around doing nothing... he suddenly ended up on the throne.
At the enthronement ceremony, an assassin charged in with a sword. He couldn’t even break through the Imperial Guards’ encirclement, so Ye Xuan rushed to help. He accidentally put too much force into it, and the sword snapped in two.
Now that his strength was out in the open, Ye Xuan had a sudden inspiration: he would pretend to be a fool. He started turning up at the Xie residence every few days with memorials in hand. But to his utter surprise, his old love poems were published and sung by countless scholars.
The world said that Emperor Liangxiao was a master of letters and arms, with unfathomable schemes.
Inside the Qianyuan Palace, Ye Xuan clung to Chancellor Xie’s waist and wept. “Waaah, why is it so hard just to live off you?”
Xie Yushu struggled to breathe. “Your Majesty, let go first...”
Content warnings:
1. This is a top-focused romance, with the Seventh Prince Ye Xuan as the top.
2. This is a coming-of-age story. The blurb takes place after the younger character has grown up, and the story includes a little palace intrigue and court politics.
3. The top and bottom are three years apart in age. The Seventh Prince is scheming from beginning to end, though he acts obedient later on.
4. All setting details are at the author’s discretion. This is an alternate history, so please don’t nitpick historical accuracy.
5. I just wanted to use a number I like. That’s all.
Here’s another upcoming top-focused story:
After the Villain Dresses as a Woman
Short blurb: The palace master dresses as a woman and conquers the world.
Synopsis:
1.
Ji Wuming, master of the Evil Palace, killed his uncle at fourteen to seize power. For over a decade, he diligently upheld the rules of his position, devoting himself to helping the protagonist gain experience points. In the end, the great hero met his downfall, leapt from the Endless Cliff, mastered the Sunflower Manual, and embarked on the Eastern Cult Leader’s path of revenge... Of course, none of that could possibly happen.
In reality, Ji Wuming was simply kidnapped by a madman who claimed to be a reclusive master. The man saved him, then kept insisting that he was a woman and threatened to poison him with a heart-burning toxin if he didn’t dress in women’s clothes.
Ji Wuming got angry, flew into a rage, and finally... gave up.
He watched the protagonist, busy cooking and washing up for him even while they were fleeing for their lives; the male supporting character, who protected him even as his meridians ran backward and he coughed up blood; and all the martial artists who were captivated by his beauty.
Ji Wuming decided that if he just kept dressing as a woman, the whole martial world would be doomed before long!
2.
The master of the Evil Palace vanished after falling from the Endless Cliff. The orthodox martial world was instantly fired up, holding meeting after meeting as they prepared to take advantage of the chance to destroy the Evil Palace’s stronghold.
Meanwhile, Ji Wuming, whom they had all declared as good as dead, sat in a pretty little dress, expressionless, watching the show from a street corner with the younger brother of the protagonist, the martial alliance chief.
“It’s about to get violent. I’m so scared.” A tall, burly young man furrowed his fierce brows and tried to curl up in Ji Wuming’s arms, hoping to look like a damsel in distress.
Ji Wuming coldly shoved his face away. “The number-one assassin has no right to say that.”
*Cross-dressing top x fierce bottom
Theme: The black-lotus Ye Xuan grows into a wise ruler under Xie Yushu’s guidance.
To be honest, the second half was very confusing, and I didn't know where the main conflict was. The male protagonist seems to want to find out the truth about Liang Fei's poisoning but doesn't seem to care much about it. He seems to be in opposition to his uncle but not completely antagonistic. The love story is relatively bland and there is no conflict, misunderstanding or emotional sublimation. Some specific conflicts and contradictions are resolved lightly. There is no sense of tension and it is confusing. The positions and principles of action of many characters are unclear. And although it is not very important, the content seems to have been separated from the title and copywriting. Just... The writing is very good, but I was quite confused after reading it.
I felt that this book lacked stamina. The story unfolded slowly at the beginning and provided a lot of foreshadowing, but it failed to keep up in the later stages. It's like a song with a melodious prelude, slowly moving towards the climax, but then it stops abruptly before reaching the climax.
I still really like the uncle I praise myself for being a stinky ass
I searched Suo Wen on the website, but it turned out that it was completely inconsistent when I looked down from the website. Then when I came back, I couldn't connect anymore. Woo woo.
The character design and early stage of this article are very beautiful! Maybe it's because my wife encountered an injury to her father and was under academic pressure when she was writing this article. There are a lot of things that haven't been explained clearly at the end of the article. Has your wife considered revising the article?
I feel that the second half of the book is not very understandable. It seems that there are many unanswered questions but it seems to have said everything. I hit here and there with a hammer and I can't find the key point.
Finally tied. After reading it, I was still a little bit disappointed, especially my uncle. To be honest, I really liked the General Feng Luo back then, and I really wanted him to look like he did back then. I personally feel that the Ninth Prince and Feng Yue are a bit like a couple (The Sixth Sense)
Hahahahahahahaha uncle is so miserable
At best, just listen to the corner. Anyone who dares to look at Ye Xuan will probably beheaded.
Ye Yi should be his uncle's child, because Concubine Yue is actually disguised and doesn't look like Concubine Liang that much, but Ye Yi looks very similar to Xiao Qi and Yue Yue.
