Poetry Like Clouds

Plain-language blurb:

Shen Chenyu woke up having lost most of his memories, in this world of immortals and blades. Luckily, he had the special ability of Reset at Midnight. Whenever one day gave way to the next, no matter how badly he was injured, he would instantly return to his original state as long as he was still breathing.

To recover his memories, and to keep himself alive, Shen Chenyu embarked on the path of cultivation. By a twist of fate, he learned that he wasn't human at all, and that his true form was a fearsome weapon! Legend had it that whoever possessed him could destroy heaven and earth!

This really is a golden finger in the truest sense.

A gentle, jade-like prince who turns dark and obsessive in the later story & a sweet-talking, chatty little weapon who grumbles inwardly & a righteous, cold-on-the-outside, warm-on-the-inside royal prodigy

Dramatic blurb:

Autumn waters for bones, jade for spirit. Snow for skin, lotus for form.

Yun Xi is a man who could be called gentle as jade, but also one who plans several steps ahead and hides a deep, calculating mind.

If even the one he loves can be turned into a chess piece, then all his countless affections can become strings to pull. He has calculated every move, all to protect the love of this life.

Shen Chenyu, would you dare accept a love like this?

The male lead's characterization borrows in part from Runyu in Ashes of Love, and the female lead's characterization takes inspiration in part from Du Ze in The Protagonist and the Reader Are Definitely True Love. This is a work born of my lingering feelings about Ashes of Love. You can consider it half fan fiction, a sort of tribute. I love the great authors, mwah, heart kiss.
