Old Tales of the Red Chamber

Taking a day off on 1/12. Sick on 1/15, taking the day off. I'll make it up tomorrow. I've started a new story, The Big Cat in the Three Kingdoms, and am still building up chapters. I hope you'll add it to your collection for now. Starting reverse VIP on 12/11.

"No, I just thought that since you two weren't home, I didn't have anyone to talk things over with. Am I not especially devoted to the whole 'obey your husband and your son' idea?"

"Heh. Who was it that kicked me out of the room last time and made me sleep in the doorway all night because I snored? Can't a husband snore even once? And who nearly drowned me by pushing my head into a washbasin the time before that, just because I had a few extra drinks? That was almost spousal murder!"

"A few extra drinks? You drank several jars! The moment you walked in, you started throwing up. You ruined the new bedding I'd just changed. That wasn't even the worst of it: you pointed at my nose and cursed me out. You said some awful things."

"All I said was that you were a jealous wife. Weren't you the one who grabbed me and asked if I had someone on the side? If you hadn't asked, I wouldn't have said it. So we're even. I'll say it again: you're the only one I have. Stop asking. And don't expect me to tell the truth after drinking next time. I'm telling you, all you do after drinking is throw up your food."

A note for everyone: I should make this clear now. I've shifted the timeline a little. Qin Keqing originally died in late autumn or early winter, but in my story, it's late spring or early summer. My completed story, Dream of the Red Chamber: Dressed as a Man, is available. I hope you enjoy it.
