Reborn: I Only Want to Be a Backup Girlfriend (GL)

Xia Xiyan reached the Mahayana stage. She thought she would ascend to the Immortal Realm and take her place among the immortals, but instead, she unexpectedly found herself in the modern world. Eighteen years later, just as she was preparing to devote herself to cultivation, she ran into her senior sister from her previous life. Once a gifted cultivator renowned throughout the cultivation world for her formidable martial arts, her senior sister now leaned on a cane and seemed frail and delicate.

Their first meeting:

Xia Xiyan: Miss, do you know what a Golden Core and a Nascent Soul are?

Chu Zeyu: ...She silently edged away from this strange girl with a cane.

Later:

Chu Zeyu: I like you.

Xia Xiyan considered her words, then said sincerely, "Actually, I only want to be your backup option."

She thought for a moment, then added, "The kind who doesn't want to replace anyone."

Chu Zeyu: ...

The person I love only wants to be my backup option, and she has no intention of ever taking the main spot. What should I do? Please help, urgently!

Some time later, Xia Xiyan was pinned against a wall and kissed, her mind completely blank.

In the blink of an eye... had she taken the main spot?!

Jiang Muyao: "Let's break up."

The taciturn, stubborn Alpha she had known for years reached out to stop her, pleading humbly, "Could you give me a chance?"

Jiang Muyao was ruthless and cold: "What do you have to offer me?"

Ji Qianyu fell silent and slowly let go.

When they met again, the poor, beautiful, quiet Alpha had become the Empire's most dazzling Major General, praised by all and with a bright future ahead. Jiang Muyao's family, meanwhile, had fallen into decline, and she was no longer the shining heiress she once was.

At a banquet, Jiang Muyao had her arm linked through an Alpha's as they chatted and laughed. Ji Qianyu glanced at the Alpha and sneered at Jiang Muyao. "Is this the person you said was good enough for you? They don't look like much."

Jiang Muyao: "..."

Note: There is a reason they break up!! She isn't actually a jerk!!!

Early on: poor, quiet, beautiful top student Alpha X carefree, spoiled, haughty heiress. Later: cold, sharp-tongued Major General X fallen heiress.
