A Guide to a Hundred Ghosts

A revised version of Shattered Gold Letter.

Many of the characters in this story are attested in historical records, but apart from the Crown Prince, I have not portrayed any of them directly.

Born into a family of scholars and known as a virtuous paragon, he was a bright and charming young noble. Yet he happened to meet the young heir to the throne, who lived secluded behind the palace's many gates. Should he hold on to him at any cost, or become the wind beneath his wings and send him soaring to the heavens?

For no apparent reason, he became enamored of that warm-hearted young man. The future Ming Xiaozong faced the most difficult, painful, and inwardly conflicted period of his life, and yet also the sweetest and happiest. Would he choose the empire, or the beauty he loved more?
