Legend has it that the Zui Chun River is home to a notorious, wicked river god who loves nothing more than flooding the riverside fields to force the villagers to offer up the prettiest girl in the village as her bride. (Not really.)
Year after year, under the river god's tyranny, the villagers have no choice but to keep holding river-god sacrifices, tossing one beautiful girl after another into the river.
And so the treacherous river god's despicable scheme succeeds. Pretty girls arrive one after another on her island, joining her harem of three thousand beauties. With one in each arm, she is a winner at life as a demon.
Until one day... the villagers come up with a novel idea and sink a beautiful Taoist nun who knows how to catch demons into the river.
The river god declares: "Have the villagers gotten too big for their boots, or can this river god no longer wield a blade? They toss a Taoist nun in and think she's going to catch me? As if!"
Later, the river god discovers that the Taoist nun really can catch her.
Taoist nun: "This river-god island isn't very big, and your harem is too crowded. Why not send some of them ashore?"
River god: "Sure, sure, sure!"
Taoist nun: "Flooding the fields isn't good for building up merit. Try doing it less from now on. If you need offerings, I'll buy them for you."
River god: "Fine, fine, fine!"
Flirtatious, shameless goddess bottom (river god) x outwardly proper, secretly sultry, ethereal top (Taoist nun)
The blurb may seem unserious, but this is a proper story, with a slightly slow start.
The Taoist nun's true form is a water official of the Heavenly Court. In this story, the river god is a kind of demon, but she likes to call herself an immortal.
I'm still considering the protagonists' names, so for now I'll use their titles instead.
