Blurb One
The emperor has seven sons: two born of the empress and five born of consorts.
If there is a legitimate son, he inherits the throne. If not, the eldest son does.
The eldest son of a consort is older, while the legitimate son is young and weak.
The battle for the throne rages, with power shifting like the wind and clouds.
Blurb Two
Though both are legitimate sons, the male lead resents being born just a little too late to become crown prince.
He is clearly virtuous and talented, and treats worthy men with respect, while the crown prince is arrogant and extravagant, with mediocre abilities. Yet that one small difference in birth puts them on opposite sides of the throne.
He is determined to claim the throne himself!
Reader's Guide (Content Warnings):
1. The male lead pursues the throne solely for power. He has little regard for family ties. He may become a good emperor, but he is not a good person.
2. The male and female leads have feelings for each other, but neither puts love above all else, and they will not be an exclusive couple.
3. This is a wholly fictional setting, based entirely on the author's imagination. I welcome historical corrections and pointers, but not nitpicking over whether something is historically accurate.
4. The author's writing ability is limited, and researching the many details and planning the story takes time. I won't be posting for now, but I absolutely won't abandon it.
