How to Survive as a Brothel Girl

Liu Jiayin discovers that she has transmigrated into an ancient-era sweet romance novel, where she has become the unlucky younger sister of the heroine. The unlucky younger sister should have been born into a powerful family like her elder sister and become a noblewoman. But an accident left her stranded among commoners, where she was adopted by a cruel couple. To save up money for their son's wedding, the cruel couple sold her to a brothel. Later, after the heroine's unlucky younger sister finally reunites with her family, her biological mother thinks her brothel upbringing has disgraced the family, and her biological father considers her a lifelong shame. Not only does she flirt and get entangled with the sons of various families, she also tries to steal her elder sister's fiance... After transmigrating, Liu Jiayin finds herself facing a room full of "sisters," customers coming and going, and a shrewd madam. Thinking of the tragic fate awaiting her in the original story gives her a real headache. With her jade-like beauty, graceful charm, and willowy figure, the madam is determined to turn Liu Jiayin into a proper femme fatale. Liu Jiayin decides that first she must stay alive, then find a way to leave the brothel and regain her freedom. Wealthy merchant: I'll buy your contract. Become my concubine. Young general: It's your good fortune that I'm buying you to be my maid. Nobleman's son: Though I'm already married, I truly love you. You won't be mistreated as my mistress. Down-on-his-luck scholar: I have no money now, but if I pass the imperial exams someday, I'll marry you properly and make you my wife. Liu Jiayin gives the pack of scoundrels a seductive smile, appearing sweet and obedient while plotting how to empty their pockets and buy back her contract. [Reading Guide] 1. The logic and setting exist to serve the plot. This is an entirely fictional world with no historical research, so please don't nitpick any of the story's details. 2. A wish-fulfillment novel. The heroine isn't a good person. She performs but doesn't sell her body. 3. It may be a slow burn, with lots of rambling everyday scenes. I wanted to write a simple story about a brothel girl's daily struggle, but there may be trouble now and then. Theme: Happiness
