[Harry Potter Fanfiction] One Last Claw

"Beloved cat Crookshanks, missing from Sherrin Street two weeks ago. Glorious ginger fur; flat face; bushy tail like a bottlebrush, as shown in the picture. If you find him, please contact us right away. A generous reward is guaranteed."

In the summer of 1997, Mr. and Mrs. Granger became Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins, and Crookshanks became the beloved cat they'd raised for seventeen years. When their cat went missing, the Wilkinses immediately put up missing-cat posters everywhere.

A free spirit cannot be imprisoned by the limits of its kind or the chaos of the times. Even a cat has the right to choose its own life.

In the end, the Wilkinses stood hand in hand in an empty field, watching that patch of ginger grow ever more distant until it finally merged with the brilliant, magnificent sunset.
