While Loki was directing the Chitauri invasion of New York, Xie Bi'an and Fan Wujiu had gone on vacation to the United States.

Fan Wujiu and Xie Bi'an looked at the black hole above New York, where aliens were pouring out nonstop.

A flash of red and gold shot past them. A repulsor blast flared in its palm and knocked away a charging Chitauri. It glanced at Fan Wujiu and Xie Bi'an and said, "Damn it, Captain, there are two civilians here." Then it quickly turned to them and said, "This area isn't safe. Please find somewhere sheltered and wait for help. Don't panic. Personnel will escort you to safety shortly."

Before Fan Wujiu and Xie Bi'an could react, Iron Man shot into the sky and vanished in an instant.

Even through his armor, they could sense his anxiety.
