Gu Qing, Wait for Me

Love is a flower, and you are the only seed.

"The Rose"

The only thing going for Officer Gu in his school days was his good grades. The second thing going for him was his good looks. He could do it all: smoke, fight, keep to himself, and deliver cutting remarks with a haughty air.

The only thing going for Tang in her school days was that she could forgive Officer Gu eight hundred times a day. The second thing going for her was that she was determined to stop Officer Gu from dating too young. Not even she was allowed to break that rule.

They secretly loved each other, but missed their chance.

Ten ordinary years passed. The moonlight in his heart became leftovers, and the cinnabar mole became a mosquito bite.

And you are still the one in my heart.

A sweet coming-of-age romance, with both laughter and tears.

"Hey, lend me last night's chemistry test so I can copy it." Tang Wan tugged at his sleeve, a hint of perfume drifting through the air.

"No." Gu Wentao didn't even look up. He thought he'd been crazy to pay so much attention to her lately. Moonlight in his heart, my foot. She was more like an oil lamp, and an awfully greasy one at that.

"Are you in a bad mood?" Officer Gu had a sixth sense. He could read Tang Wan even over a phone line.

"Monkey had your fortune told. He said your love star is shining, and you're fated to suffer a romantic calamity." Tang Wan clutched her phone, her heart pounding. "I had to stand up for you, right? I couldn't let people make stuff up about you, so I went and dealt with him myself."

"Is that so?" Gu Wentao's voice held a smile. "What terrible judgment. I have Wenquxing, the star of literary talent, in my fate. I'm destined to be alone. No romance spell can get me."

Director Ma of the research institute patiently lectured his disciples: "Professor Gu is young and accomplished. He's still working on the front lines this late at night."

Gu Wentao stopped and, to everyone's astonishment, grabbed Tang Wan, who was trying to pretend she didn't know him. "After five, I don't count the hours. That's time spent with my girlfriend."

Tang Wan: "I change boyfriends pretty often. My attending physician might last longer."

Gu Wentao: "I'll look forward to meeting the next one. Good luck."
