People Change, the Road Ahead Does Not

He refused to settle for an ordinary life. Though he was full of ambition, he ended up beneath Mount Shu, making a living by selling fake Dong paintings. One drunken word could not dispel the world's drunken stupor.

She had a deft hand and a gift for every flavor, with a quick, clever mind, yet she had wandered the world for years without asking about her origins. One word, "parting," conveyed all the world's joys and sorrows of separation and reunion.

He was like snow drifting on the wind, ethereal and peerless, yet he abandoned the immortal's bearing and severed his Daoist roots. His benefactor hunted him for a thousand miles. One word, "defeat," captured every kind of love and resentment in this fleeting life.

She was peerlessly beautiful and understanding, yet unwilling to spend her remaining years in the ninefold palace. She would rather wander far and wide. One word, "spirit," said it all about her perceptive and brilliant nature.

Looking back, the past is vivid in my mind, yet all of it has become a memory.

A little boat on rivers and seas: what it carries is more than just the remainder of a life.

All that remains is a sigh: “Will this love one day become a memory? Even then, I was already lost in bewilderment.”

This is a collaborative story I wrote with Baiyi Qingxiang. It's a fanfic for Chinese Paladin, since we're both fans. We used to sneakily write it during class and keep tossing plot ideas back and forth after class. It was pretty tough to write, but there was more happiness than hardship. I don't have much time to type, so my typing is way behind my writing, but I'll get it done as soon as I can. Heh heh, let's do this! (I'll note in the story who wrote each section.)
