The Rise of the Swordmaster [Western Fantasy]

A sword is a weapon. A Swordbearer is a human weapon.

They serve the royal family, possess unrivaled combat skills, and are bound by magic to protect their masters with their lives.

In reality, they're also treated like a male model troupe. Their working conditions are harsh, they get no benefits, and they spend the whole year without a single day off. If they're not careful, their masters might even take advantage of them.

Magic binds masters and Swordbearers together. Swordbearers never betray, obey absolutely, and stay by their masters forever. Their souls are closer than those of the most devoted lovers.

Ever since the Swordbearer Blade was bound to a troublemaking prince, he's grown more and more haggard, losing both his hair and his dignity.

What, you want to murder your father-in-law? Let's go, let's go. Kill, kill, kill.

What, you want to steal a dragon's fire? Let's go, let's go. Sneak, sneak, sneak.

What else? What, you want to kiss me... The others are watching. At least get us a room first.

Notes: 1. Main couple: a clever, short-tempered, impossibly arrogant, beautiful prince as the top x a highly skilled Swordbearer as the bottom.

Secondary couple: powerful top x powerful bottom.

2. A plot-driven, traditional Western fantasy. I'm trying to write a fierce, action-packed story, and secretly hope it comes close to the traditional style.

3. The Swordbearer concept comes from David Duncan's The Swordbearer Trilogy. I've only used some of its settings, and any settings taken from the original book will be marked in the text.
