In the seventeenth year of Yongze, Prince Rui Jiexu besieged Xiyao's capital, Shengjing. After more than a month, the city finally fell. The King of Xiyao had long indulged in a life of pleasure, day and night without restraint. Evil influences beset him, and every kind of illness arose. When the terrible news reached him, his life was at an end. Xiyao fell, and Dongxuan gained its nineteen prefectures. At the year's end, the tribes of Yidi, the southern states, Xiqiu, and Suoxi all came to pay tribute. From then on, the realm was called Great Xuan.
