Writing this summer novella felt like a happy accident, and yet like the natural thing to do. Before this, I had spent over a year writing short stories, and had nearly forgotten what it felt like to write at length.
Short stories may be concise and powerful, but they can't match the delicacy of a longer work. I suppose that's a common problem.
