Mandarin Duck Cannon

A professor of architecture who falls for looks x a secretly passionate investor in historic buildings

Xi Nan fell for Gu Wenhao's looks at first sight, and her heart began to flutter. As luck would have it, Gu Wenhao practically came to her door and eagerly asked her out.

The first time, he asked her to a haunted house.

The second time, he asked her to his ex-girlfriend's home.

The third time, he asked her to a murder house.

The fourth time...

Xi Nan gazed up at the sky. This time it was a haunted mansion, with no electricity or water, and an eerie wind blowing. The two of them played chess by sheer force of will.

Alas, she wanted moonlit dates beneath the flowers, while Gu Wenhao only wanted a midnight fright. She watched his chess setup with no enthusiasm. Both cannons were advancing together, their pieces lined up like a pair of mandarin ducks. Was that a hint? Should she play hard to get? Never mind, she agreed.

A mature couple, mutual pining turning to love, a sweet everyday mystery
