Today Is Like Yesterday [Detective Dee: The Mystery of the Phantom Flame] + [Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon] + [Detective Dee: The Four Heavenly Kings]

Synopsis:

Pei Donglai was fated to live in the shadows.

His ending was no surprise: he died beneath the sunlight he feared most.

Then he discovered that he was still alive, and had arrived in Luoyang twenty-seven years earlier.

There, he ran into a young Di Renjie... still sporting his trademark little mustache; Yuchi Zhenjin, whose name alone sounded like a fortune; and... Shatuo Zhong, with that innocent-looking smile... Should he kill him? Or kill him?

No pairings, or you could say everyone is paired with everyone: the two leading men of the Dali Temple, the detective team, love and hate entwined...

My movie viewing order is The Four Heavenly Kings, Detective Dee: The Four Heavenly Kings, and Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon. Xiao Lai appears in Detective Dee: The Four Heavenly Kings. He died too early and was born too late. When he arrived, an age of prosperity had already come to an end; after he left, he did not live to see the next one begin.

So I sincerely hope he can live through the beginning of it all, and whatever the ending, walk alongside these people and experience it all with them.

He left this world so decisively in Detective Dee: The Four Heavenly Kings. What a shame.
