The Mountain and Sea Sacrifice

The Ye family existed as far back as the era of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, and nearly became extinct during the reign of Emperor Yang of Sui. The cause of their dispute was a large black wooden chest filled with bamboo scrolls. Sealed within those scrolls were all the powerful demons and beasts that had existed since the era of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors. Ye Li, the only one to escape, carried the chest with her as she wandered the world. But others were searching for her too, and they all understood one thing:

Whoever possesses this chest holds the power to control the world.
