[Guide and Sentinel] Sheathe

Tang Heng had an accident while carrying out a mission. He fell into a berserk state, his senses went haywire, and his strength spiraled out of control, leaving him useless.

Just as he was about to accept this outcome, tantamount to a death sentence, a Guide suddenly appeared.

He said he could save him.

He also said he could make Tang Heng a Dark Sentinel.

Might as well give it a try, Tang Heng thought. He'd get to live a little longer, and a Guide's bedside care thrown in for free.

Sounds pretty good, doesn't it?

Only later did Tang Heng learn that the person he'd taken in wasn't there to provide end-of-life care.

He was Jiang Feng, the Tower District's chief Guide, and the most dangerous, levelheaded, and untouchable person in the entire military.

This man saved him, kept him in line, and trained him, slowly pulling him back from the brink of madness.

This was also the man who kept secrets from him and used him, pushing him step by step into the eye of the storm surrounding the Dark Sentinel Project.

Tang Heng had thought he was risking his worthless life for a chance to survive.

Only later did he realize that he'd wagered his whole heart, too.

Steady, cunning Guide gong (Jiang Feng) X hot-tempered, straightforward Sentinel shou (Tang Heng)
