[Pili] Buddha's Tribulation (Yan Wushang X Shang Yingluo)

Yan Wushang is the insurmountable obstacle in Shang Yingluo's life, an attachment to the mortal world he can never overcome... In the end, I chose the particularly melodramatic amnesia trope over the reincarnation-after-life-and-death trope. I always feel that after reincarnation, a person might become someone else, and no matter how much they struggle, they'd be starting over with a completely new person. At least with amnesia, it's still the same person. So I decided to simply immerse myself in the melodrama... I rarely ship Buddhist characters, and this is my first time writing a story about a Buddhist who gives in to worldly feelings. Though it's fanfiction, my writing is too poor to capture the depths of Buddhism or its Zen insights. I feel like Shang Yingluo's personality and characterization go off the rails later on, but I have to finish writing the pairing I ship, even if I have to cry through it. Please forgive me... Theme:
