The first part is set in the Republican era. (An uncommon kind of Republican-era story, written true to life.)
The story portrays dozens of women from different backgrounds, each representing a distinct type, as they struggle to survive and make the most of their lives amid a century of upheaval in modern China. Through snapshots of everyday life, from food and household expenses to all the mundane details, it depicts the burdens borne by generations of Chinese women: holding families together, raising children, and teaching them.
This story is dedicated to the countless silent mothers and unsung heroes who have carried on the generations!
Here are two of my completed novels, both very different kinds of Jinjiang stories.
1. "Flowers on the Other Shore: A Dream of Red Mansions Crossover" - A light read worth savoring, and a good novel worth reading even among light fiction.
To quote a reader: This book offers the most thoughtful additions to the historical events and character portrayals in Dream of Red Mansions. It avoids reducing the original characters to one-dimensional figures and avoids letting the author’s feelings about the original distort their characters. It explores them in depth so beautifully that reading Flowers on the Other Shore alongside the original helps fill in the original characters’ inner worlds. (This comment appears in Chapter 569 of "The Distance Between Us")
2. "The Distance Between Us" - Everyday life at a provincial hospital in the early 1990s. A realistic medical drama.
To quote a reader: You can read it as a realistic novel, a serious work, or reportage; as a romance or an inspirational story; and even as a classic popular-science text... Absolutely one of the best novels on Jinjiang! I never expected Jinjiang to surprise me like this! (Chapter 170)
Theme: The joys and sorrows, and unyielding struggles, of grassroots women over nearly a century
What a pity that the novel ended so quickly. I originally thought it would be a long novel like "A Little Distance", but I still couldn't get enough of it. My favorite is "Some Distance", probably because I work in a hospital, and I felt a strong sense of immersion when reading the article. Thank you to the author for the article. I hope to see the follow-up parts of this article in the future.
Alas, this story can be treated as a side story. What happened to Luo Jieting's three sons? Why was only Luo Ying left in the end? What a pity Jin Wenlan
Although I don't ask for anything in return, it's still extremely sad to have a white-eyed wolf...
Oh, my dear, why do you always stab me unexpectedly? My Wenlan
Finished Spreading Flowers ~ I originally wanted to fatten up, but I didn't expect it to end so soon
Ah... This extra story! This once again deepened my fear of death during pregnancy ~ I don't want a second child! Determined, determined, determined! What a pity Mr. Kim
I really want to see what happened after the founding of the People's Republic of China...
Great, the surgery went well and everything went smoothly!
Now that I am a mother, my eye sockets have become shallower... Every time I see young parents like this die of serious illness, leaving an old and childish child alone, it is very sad and difficult... Children will go through many more hardships than other children in the future.
Let's live a good life in the peaceful and prosperous age!
