“No...” Su Jingyi woke from her nightmare once again, her face streaked with tears. She quickly twisted on the bedside lamp, and the room was immediately filled with a dim, amber glow. In the light, tiny beads of sweat appeared on her forehead. Next came the usual step: she turned over and got out of bed. In her panic, she knocked the alarm clock off the pillow. She hurriedly opened a drawer and rummaged out a bottle of pills. In the silent night, her movements were so quick, yet the sounds seemed so piercing.
When she sat back down on the bed, she had already swallowed a pill. Like a wounded little animal, she clutched the bottle tightly in both hands and began muttering to herself. “Xia Nan, you still won't forgive me, will you?”
Tears quietly slid down Su Jingyi's lovely face once more. She seemed dazed, unaware of herself. Her tears dampened the label on the medicine bottle in her hand. The tears were surrender, but the three characters on the label, “Bai You Jie” (Prozac), remained as clear as ever, as if utterly unmoved.
