The Desk Mate Fate Brought Me

Jiang Yuruo, cold as ice, a bona fide human iceberg.

Chen Yiyang, a bright, passionate boy who's a bit of a goofball.

On the first day of school, the substitute homeroom teacher waved a hand like an immortal pointing the way. “You two, sit over there.”

Fate quietly brought them together, and becoming desk mates by chance drew them closer.

Chen Yiyang made Jiang Yuruo laugh again and again, while he always turned shy and red-faced around her.

Three years later, Jiang Yuruo: “This desk mate who's responsible for all my laughs is something else.”

Seven years later, Chen Yiyang: “Teacher, you must be the Matchmaker God in disguise.”

Students kept asking Chen Yiyang, “Who was your desk mate before?”

Chen Yiyang: “My original (fated) desk mate was...” He exchanged a smile with Jiang Yuruo.

Throughout all three years of high school, you were my only desk mate.

Heaven's will and fate had already decided they would be together from the moment they first sat beside each other.

Sunny (shy) boy x (faux) aloof girl

No melodramatic tropes, just the tender warmth of an ordinary romance.

P.S.

1. One-on-one campus romance.

2. This is my first story, and the first ten chapters are a little slow to warm up. After reading chapter one, feel free to skip straight to chapter five. Please bear with me
