(Po Po) A Dream in the Garden

Wu Yingjie, an actress at the Ruyi Theater, is best known for her performances of The Peony Pavilion. She never expected to catch the eye of Bai Xiaoye, the Bai family's notorious young troublemaker, who insisted on sharing the stage with her. Bai Xiaoye is obsessed with opera, but his family refuses to accept it. So he spends his days hanging around the red-light district and has a terrible reputation. Yet when Wu Yingjie sees him perform, she is simply stunned. As the two act together day after day, they nearly forget who they are beneath their roles. But the Bai family's decline eventually changes everything. For the sake of his family, Bai Xiaoye has no choice but to marry someone else, give up what he loves, and become a true young gentleman. He and Wu Yingjie can only go their separate ways. The recklessness of youth was like a dream in a fleeting life, ending with a vast, empty land, white and clean. Theme:
