"Dyed with blue, it becomes blue; dyed with yellow, it becomes yellow. What it enters changes, and so does its color."
----Mozi, "Dyeing"
The word "Canghuang" can refer to heaven and earth, as well as to the impermanence of worldly affairs and human nature.
At the end of the cultivation world's age, a senior cultivator carrying memories of the past hides away in the mountains. There, he meets someone who forces him to recall the past and slowly investigate the truth of what happened back then.
The CP only appears in flashbacks, and their relationship has a bad ending, but the overall story will have a happy ending.
The male lead's name doesn't appear until Chapter Four. Before that, I just call him "the man," since no one really addresses him by name yet.
Here's a metaphor for the relationship between the "Dao Heart" and cultivation: cultivation before the Dao Heart is achieved is like a free membership trial. You can cultivate to a certain level, but you have to pay to keep your membership (achieve the Dao Heart) if you want to make real progress.
Overall, this is a cultivation novel, but it has a large amount of original worldbuilding. The reasons behind the setting will be explained in the coming chapters. This is the first story in the series, and it approaches the mortal world from the perspective of a mortal cultivator after leaving the Dao Realm.
This is the first story I've written, and I'm still figuring out all sorts of things. I often feel like my writing doesn't quite express what I mean, so please feel free to offer corrections and criticism.
I've had a lot going on lately and haven't had much time to write. If anyone really likes this or wants to read more, please tell me in the comments or by private message. (I know no one's reading _(:з"∠)_ but you never know.) Otherwise, I'll update whenever I feel like it. (Being good.jpg)
