This world is not the same as the one he knows. His experiences with his friends have become confused with one another, and some important choices, as well as others that seemed inconsequential, have become difficult to judge. It took him considerable effort to finally distinguish the differences between the two worlds. Yet after three years in this world, Mertrogo still cannot remember the memories he has lost.
The only thing he remembers about those missing memories is this: he agreed to someone's request, and only then was he able to come to this world with the help of another person's power.
But who was that someone? Whose power did he use? Where and how was the agreement made? And why did he agree in the first place? He has no recollection of any of it.
His memories have been deliberately obscured. He knows that.
He also knows that he cannot simply blow away the white fog concealing those memories,
or else...
or else...
--- Note from March 2026
I've been organizing my writing lately, and sometimes the different versions of translated names give me a headache.
I've wondered whether I should stick to just one version of the names, but both the mainland and Taiwanese translations have names I like and names I don't... Hufflepuff, for instance.
After a lot of thought, I've decided to stop worrying about it and be a little self-indulgent: I'll use whichever names I think sound good. Maybe I should mention it in the author's notes?
😭 😭 It looks good, but the traditional Chinese characters are a bit difficult to read😥Thank you for your hard work🌹
