Author's Note
As a Yuzu fan, I witnessed Yuzuru Hanyu's miraculous title defense at the Pyeongchang Olympics on February 17, 2018, and was so excited that I felt I had to do something for my idol. Unfortunately, I've never been much of a fan girl and had no idea how to show my support. In March, I watched the hugely popular 99.9 Criminal Lawyer. I loved the pacing, plot, and characters. As I praised the show, an idea suddenly came to me: the early mystery series I adored, Furuhata Ninzaburo, often invited popular stars to make guest appearances. What kind of fascinating chemistry might emerge if Yuzu and Fukuyama from 99.9 were brought together? Once that idea got into my head, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I immediately started working out the story and began writing in earnest. I started planning the structure at the end of March and finished on May 13, more than a month later. The story is twenty chapters and over 65,000 characters long. I basically achieved my original goal of setting up and resolving a hook in every chapter, and kept each chapter to around 3,000 characters, which helped me improve my story-structuring skills. I felt the project was worthwhile, so I compiled it into a book as a keepsake.
I should clarify that this is a fanfiction, and all characters and events are fictional. Please don't assume any of it is real. This book is not for commercial use; it's only for fellow fans to enjoy and as a keepsake. I made my idol a suspect, which I think makes me a rather unusual fan. After writing the whole thing, I got a kick out of the straight-faced nonsense, though many details are also drawn from reality and rumor. The story blends fact and fiction and holds together logically. Want to know why Hanyu became a suspect, and what happened in the end? Then come along with me!
Well written, keep it up!
