“Qian'er.” Mu Chenyan’s white clothes were stained red with blood, some hers and some his. He knelt on one knee, the Longevity Sword in his hand already cracked, blood dripping from its blade.
Gu Qian lay in a pool of blood. At the sound of his voice, she slowly raised her head. Patterns spread across her forehead, and her red eyes were filled with bloodlust.
“I’ll take you away.” Mu Chenyan used his sword to push himself upright, then staggered toward her. He raised a hand to her forehead and spoke gently.
The bloodlust in her eyes gave way to confusion. She looked at the person before her, and familiar yet strange images flashed through her mind until they came to a stop at one point.
“Master?” Gu Qian asked uncertainly.
“Yes. Your master will take you away.” Mu Chenyan reached out his hand.
Gu Qian smiled and tried to place her hand in his. Just as their hands were about to touch, hers fell limply away, and she never woke again.
