The Bride Snatching

You might not believe this, but when I came down the mountain to snatch that fair-skinned little girl, I meant to make her my bandit wife.

The little girl we'd taken to our stronghold stepped onto the table, holding a red-tasseled spear longer than she was tall. With a clang, she drove it into the tabletop. My brothers were so scared they ducked beneath the table, clutching their heads.

Tsk! They all had fierce faces and stood nine feet tall, yet they were more timid than mice. They even shoved me right out from under the table.

This is a short story told from the male lead's perspective.
