The Other Shore [The Legend of Qin: Honglian/Chilian X Han Fei]

Back then, they were still young, unaware of the pain of parting from the living.

Now, after a long separation, sorrowful voices and tears fall like rain.

She has had another dream. It is of the old Xinzheng, with its winding palaces and flowers blooming like brocade. Ninth Brother smiles and flicks her nose, calling her "Honglian."

Outside the window, the sun shines brightly. Begonias gleam like reflections in a mirror, their long stamens blushing pink and glowing. The breeze stirs the branches, and every blossom trembles, a sight beyond words.

Beneath the gentle breeze, behind the flowering trees, someone stands silently, without a sound.

Black clothes, hair tied back, a dark gold hair ribbon, cold features, and a tall, slender figure.

When she looks up, only the falling flowers make a sound.

Ninth Brother's smile is radiant, like that brilliant streak of color at the edge of the sky. His purple figure gradually recedes, fading into a memory in her heart.

"Honglian, you've grown up!"

At that simple, casual remark, tears pour down her face.
