There are many ways to become famous in show business: talent, connections, publicity stunts, scandals...

But not many people make it big by arguing. Cheng Ran is a popular star, famous in the industry for picking fights. As a proper contrarian, he can draw on his wealth of experience to leap over the chasm of logic, defeat you, and leave you fuming. His nickname is "Little Carpenter."

--An actor complains: "The crew's boxed meals are way too awful."

Cheng Ran: "Eat it if you want. If not, get lost."

--"The food on set is absolutely delicious!"

Cheng Ran: "Are you the director's pet or something?"

--A fan asks: "I just joined our Little Carpenter family. How do I get in on the arguing?"

Cheng Ran: "If you don't know how to argue, why did you join?"

Basically, if you can think of it, he can argue about it.

Everyone speculates: What kind of connections does someone need to have to disregard everyone and pick fights or clap back whenever he wants?

Actually, none of this is Cheng Ran's fault. He was saddled with this public persona as soon as he debuted, and he feels wronged too. Luckily, he isn't particularly keen on making it in show business, so he just does as he pleases. That saves him plenty of trouble, except somehow the more he claps back, the more famous and popular he gets. It's absurd!

The gong is emotionally clueless and overly dramatic, but he isn't really a contrarian. Another sweet romance, focused on their relationship.

Xie Zhixing opened his diary: "September 6, [year]. Sunny. My deskmate is a damn top student. She wakes me up eight times in one class. So annoying."

The reborn Xie Zhixing: Annoying my foot! How can you be blind when there's such an adorable baby right there?

He flipped further ahead.

"November 24, [year]. Light snow. Jingjing got together with my best friend. They even went to see a movie together. My deskmate bought movie tickets and asked if I wanted to go, but I turned her down. I feel like I've been cheated on. I hate snow."

The reborn Xie Zhixing: What was that movie they went to see?

He flipped through the diary until he reached the end. June 18, the day before he died: "How can ripped jeans go with an evening gown? How can my guitar play a duet with your piano?"

The reborn Xie Zhixing: They can!
