Butterflies are spirits that can communicate between reality and dreams.
The ancient tales of Zhuang Zhou dreaming he was a butterfly and a millet dream all show that anything is possible in the world of dreams.
Zi Die is a little butterfly demon, naturally aloof, whose only wish in life is to cultivate the Great Dao and ascend to immortality.
After accidentally obtaining Zhuang Zhou's art of dream interpretation, she sets out to do good deeds and accumulate merit.
Only after stepping into the vast mortal world does she finally understand that sometimes reality is more terrifying than dreams!
A mix of Liaozhai stories and some films and TV shows I've watched, with everything thrown into one big pot.
Although the female lead is a demon, she has no golden finger beyond illusion magic and dream interpretation.
The male lead may not appear until quite late.
