After Becoming the Tyrant Villain's Beloved Consort (Transmigrate into a Book)

A story written to fill in a plot hole. Read at your own risk.

Feng Changting is transmigrated into the ancient political-intrigue novel The Fight for the Throne as a cannon-fodder female character who is strangled to death by the villain, Prince Ning, while trying to flee an arranged marriage.

They say Prince Ning is ugly, violent-tempered, mercurial, commands a vast army, and kills without blinking. He's so frightening he can silence a crying child at night, and he especially loves tormenting delicate women.

The cannon-fodder girl is terrified of him, but to help the male lead seize the throne, she still decides to marry Prince Ning and act as a spy. Then comes the dramatic twist:

She makes it all the way to her wedding day, trembling with fear, but in the end she can't bear the thought of marrying Prince Ning and runs away!

Feng Changting arrives in the story while on the run from her wedding.

Facing a powerful enemy, Feng Changting calmly tosses aside her bundle, hits herself over the head with a brick, and lies with a perfectly straight face: "I was kidnapped."

Mo Gudao, Prince Ning, has been maneuvered into marrying the unloved daughter of the Chancellor's household. He doesn't much care either way. As long as she knows her place, he doesn't mind supporting another idler.

But he never imagined that woman would dare to run away from their wedding!

He leads his troops in pursuit, swearing to make the woman who dared to toy with him pay. Instead, he sees her take her shameless lying to astonishing new heights.

Suddenly, he doesn't want to kill her just yet.

The biggest sensation in Shengjing lately is that Prince Ning has been betrothed to the Chancellor's unloved fifth daughter, and that she actually dared to run away!

Prince Ning is cruel and violent. Everyone assumes the fifth daughter won't survive her wedding night after she's brought back.

Everyone is waiting to see her humiliated.

But they wait and wait, all the way until Prince Ning ascends the throne and the fifth daughter becomes empress, receiving the emperor's exclusive favor, and they still never get to see the spectacle they were hoping for.
