I'm a Chef in This World

Don't read this story. It's not officially finished, and I'm rewriting the outline. I think I lost the notebook with my outlines when I moved, and I still haven't found it. It had detailed outlines for several stories in it. I'm going crazy. My head hurts.

Blurb: Written on January 22, 2019. I've saved a screenshot of the blurb.

Please add my new story to your favorites. I bow to you.

Inspired by browsing the Classic of Mountains and Seas and seeing all those strange creatures. I kept thinking their meat must be crunchy, or have an unusual chew, and that it could be stir-fried, steamed, or braised. I especially like Sichuan cuisine. Also inspired by the animals at the zoo. Gaa-haa.

Protagonist: Bai Ze, a food-loving mythical beast and the last Bai Ze in the world.

I work as a chef among humans. I work as a personal shopper among humans. I raise children among humans.

Bai Ze spreads her hands: I don't know why these humans treat my food diary like a book of strange tales. I open the Classic of Mountains and Seas in utter bewilderment. It's all food in here! Food! Every dish comes from things I've searched out, one step at a time.

Bai Ze is a natural divine beast who understands all things and knows the past and the nature of all creatures. (That's because she's a glutton.) She's the ancestor of all demon hunters, born with the ability to banish demons, exorcise evil spirits, capture ghosts, and set up formations. See Records of Strange Tales.

When Bai Ze appears, all demons submit.

Same-sex marriage is legal. The first female lead transmigrated from the interstellar world, where there are six genders: Alpha, Omega, and Beta.

Many of the settings and materials come from Baidu Baike, as well as folk customs, history, Taoist legends, and recipes.

Female A: Bai Ze, a lazy, narcissistic Alpha who loves to cling to people, and the kind with a big dick. She has Bai Ze blood because the Interstellar Alliance needed someone willing to go alone into a wormhole and blow up a ship. The force of a collapsing star system also flung her into another time and space: Blue Star, a strange world where demons exist on a planet shaped like a ball.

Female Lead Two: Zhu Mingyan, refined, beautiful, cold, and powerful. But she's delicate and weak, hot-tempered, and afraid of furry animals. She's busy 360 days out of the year. She acts annoyed with Bai Ze, but puts up with her. Love? That doesn't exist.

Theme: The world itself isn't complicated. It's the human heart that makes it so. We use the simplest methods to solve the most complicated problems.
