Every night, it would fly out of Old Dragon Pool and eat any child who wouldn't behave,

Until it found one it liked.
Then heavy rain would fall from the sky,
And floods would ravage the land,
Until the people married that girl off to the Dragon King.
Only then would everything return to normal.
The story of The Dragon King's Bride had been passed down for generations in Zheng Family Village. Adults often told it to children who wouldn't go to sleep.
Zheng Funiang grew up listening to this terrifying bedtime story. She always thought it was just a story, and that the man-eating Dragon King was something adults had made up to scare children.
That is, until the year her hometown was battered by unrelenting rain and devastating floods.
Zheng Funiang was chosen by the Dragon King and married off to him in a phoenix crown and red wedding robes.
