Heartache and Friendship

King Huai of Liang was the youngest son of Emperor Wen. The emperor loved him and knew he enjoyed reading, so he appointed Jia Yi as his tutor. Several years later, King Huai fell from his horse and died without an heir. Jia Yi blamed himself for failing as his tutor, wept for more than a year, and then died as well. ---- Records of the Grand Historian, "Biographies of Qu Yuan and Jia Yi"
