The Young Marquis Would Rather Marry a Ghost

In the bedroom of the great-grandfather of the young lord of the Jinnan Marquis household hung a portrait of a beauty. The woman in the painting was so beautiful that no one on earth could compare.

Ever since he was old enough to understand, the young lord had been bewitched by the portrait, visiting it every day. When he came of age to marry, he showed no interest at all. He paid no attention to any woman of his time, and told his parents he wanted to marry the woman in the painting.

Everyone in the capital said the young lord had gone mad. Years later, when he took his new bride out for a stroll, people saw what she looked like and finally understood: the young lord hadn't been speaking madness after all.
