A Childhood Friend for Life

Lin Li: The happiest moment of my life was the day I met you and called out to you. That was the beginning of us. When I was young, I loved your smiling eyes. In middle age, I loved gazing at your graceful, composed figure. In old age, I often replayed the image of you asleep in peace, your hair silver from end to end. On a slow morning, before you wake, sunlight falls across you, and the scene is like something from a dream. You are still that young girl.
