[Wuxia Crossover] The Fake Monk and the Real Meng Po

The Records of the Underworld say that there is a realm of the dead, the road where souls return. It stretches eight hundred li, with neither flowers nor leaves, only yellow sand as far as the eye can see, winding and flowing onward. Hence its name, the Yellow Springs. Within it dwell demons known as the Meng Po clan. They are all women, clever and crafty, exceptionally beautiful, fond of eating ghosts, and skilled at brewing soup. Meng Po Sanqi guarded the Yellow Springs alone for several hundred years before meeting the Venerable Ananda. When he departed, Sanqi gave him one soul and one spirit in the hope of following the Buddha forever. Yet because of Sanqi, the Buddha had not yet let go of the mortal world. The Venerable Ananda said before the Buddha, "I am willing to become a stone bridge and endure five hundred years of wind, five hundred years of sun, and five hundred years of rain, if only Sanqi will cross it." Sanqi said, "I am willing to guard the eight hundred li of the Yellow Springs alone. Even if my soul is incomplete, all I ask is that the Venerable be free of worry and fear." One bowl of Meng Po's soup, and all the mortal world becomes emptiness. The Buddha can save others, but cannot save himself. So be it, so be it. This is the tangled tale of Meng Po Sanqi, reborn as the City Lord's younger sister, and the Venerable Ananda, reborn as the monk Wuhua, becoming entangled with each other amid the rolling mortal world. The female lead has a golden finger, and her values are skewed. The story is mainly based on the setting of Gu Long's novels, while also drawing on some elements from the TV series.
