How to Cling to the Male Lead

[I started writing on impulse. I'll come back to fill in this hole once I have 200 bookmarks. At this rate, it'll probably stay on the list forever.]

Xia Wan transmigrates into the novel The Coldhearted Young Master of a Wealthy Family as Su You, the male lead's younger sister. After hitting her head as a child, Su You's intelligence remained at the level of a four-year-old.

The male lead is naturally prone to attracting ghosts and can see spirits. When he was first brought back to the Su family, he loathed and feared ghosts. Su You, born fearless, simply grabbed some talismans and went after whatever the male lead pointed at, serving as his protector.

In the book, the frail, sharp-tongued male lead eventually becomes cold as ice and ruthless. The turning point is Su You's death.

After transmigrating, Xia Wan must not only avoid Su You's death, but also play the role of a ghost-busting sidekick.

But she isn't afraid of anything... except ghosts!

Xia Wan remembers that the male lead in the book is exceptionally gifted and skilled at feng shui and fortune-telling. When he goes to Hong Kong City to study, he makes a living by telling fortunes for people. There's no way he'd end up singing for money, work out just to deal with the beefy school bullies in Hong Kong City, or form a band with the second male lead, who's at odds with him in the book...

Not only has his character gone completely off the rails, he's also managed to save his father, who was supposed to die early in the book, and has no interest in inheriting a fortune worth over a hundred billion. Instead, he spends every day dragging her and the second male lead's pack of troublemakers to practice for competitions, while occasionally taking side jobs telling fortunes and checking feng shui...

How is this anything like the taciturn, gloomy, cold male lead described in the book???
