The Days Are Waning

Heaven says I carry the sins of love from nine lifetimes.

How did I let it slip away, leaving me timid in this life?

In the end, no amount of escape could withstand fate’s design.

Reborn once more, how can I undo the sin that was destined?

Or will it all prove to be no more than yesterday’s faded beauty?

Despondent, I sing softly:

“Waning, waning, why not return home?”
