Imperial University is the name shared by the Federation's First University of Political Science and Law and its First Military Academy. Legend has it that these two schools were once not independent institutions, but two branches of Imperial University. Political reasons caused Imperial University to split, giving rise to the two schools. In time, the First Military Academy became a cradle for all kinds of military prodigies, while the First University of Political Science and Law became a gathering place for high-ranking officials, scholars of history, and literary masters. Both schools are located on the Federation's capital planet, Po Jun. Po Jun means "breaking the army," a title for an emperor. It was also the hope the Federation's founding leader had for Imperial University's students, and hinted at the futures of students from both schools: students of the First University of Political Science and Law were destined for politics, while students of the First Military Academy were destined for the military. The top students of both schools were coveted by all the major factions.
