"Let's have a chat." Secretary Yu spoke as he made a gesture, never imagining that Wei Mingzhe would refuse.

"Don't overthink it. Your boss wants to see you."

Wei Mingzhe hadn't been summoned by Chairman Zhou in days. At the mention of his boss, the first person he thought of was Zhou Wenwei. In a flash, he remembered the familiar-looking man. "Secretary Yu."

"Heh!" The man chuckled softly and said with something like a sigh, "You're not completely stupid."

Wei Mingzhe couldn't help feeling disappointed. He had quickly realized that this boss definitely wasn't Zhou Wenwei.

"Thinking about Chairman Zhou?" The man turned around. "Do you think you're worthy?"

The blunt remark instantly made Wei Mingzhe flush with embarrassment.

"You... I..." Wei Mingzhe was at a loss for words, yet felt humiliated and indignant, as if his little secret had been exposed to the world.

"Are you embarrassed?" Secretary Yu gave a mocking smile. "Were you blushing while putting your skills to use when you climbed into his bed, too?"

"Secretary Yu, don't make things up. I didn't do anything." Wei Mingzhe didn't know why, but he felt utterly panicked. He thought he should be angry, that he should stand up to this insult and cut ties with the man, but he couldn't.

"Heh." Secretary Yu chuckled again. "So you didn't even get the chance to do anything. Chairman Zhou never gave you that opportunity."

Wei Mingzhe felt as though everyone in the world could see through the shameful little thoughts he had kept secret from everyone but himself.

"Here's a piece of advice, kid." Secretary Yu raised a hand and lifted Wei Mingzhe's delicate chin. "Anyone who wants to level up has to clear the stages one by one."

Wei Mingzhe didn't understand at first. "What... what do you mean?"

Watching him panic, Secretary Yu gently picked up the wineglass on the windowsill. "Have a drink with me."
