This Is a Textbook Protagonist Setup!

After Ji Ying died, he transmigrated, only to open his eyes and find himself being hunted alongside his disciple by a huge crowd. There was no time to say a word; all they could do was run for their lives. As they ran, Ji Ying realized something was off. His disciple wasn't just devastatingly handsome and exceptionally talented. Even more absurdly, when the two jumped off a cliff, they found a secret manual at the bottom; when they plunged into the sea, a strange beast was waiting underwater, eager to become his disciple's familiar... This is the standard protagonist setup! So Ji Ying happily latched onto his disciple's coattails... His disciple's thoughts: Why does Master keep calling me Daddy? And why does he say he's going to go wild spanking me... I mean, his own butt? It's weird, but... I kind of want to see it.
