Gu Ruiqiu, the eldest princess of Northern Wei, had four things she disliked in life:
She disliked wearing white, heavy winter snow, being judged after death, and her elder brother, Xiu Jun.
Her richly colorful life is recorded in history books in only a few brief lines.
A later unofficial history, Collected Tales from the Secluded Window, says: "The eldest princess was named Ruiqiu. Clever and talented, she could play the pipa and was skilled in intrigue. In the eighth year of Northern Wei, she interfered in government affairs and angered the emperor. She was later imprisoned by her brother, Gu Changxiu, ruler of Northern Wei. Her fate is unknown."
