Xie Ting was killed by his friend Ji Yunshu. Unable to rest in peace, his lingering spirit followed Ji Yunshu for a thousand years, witnessing him stir up a storm across the land, step over mountains of corpses, and become the unrivaled great villain of the age.
With revenge out of reach, Xie Ting was told by the Heavenly Dao that the world he lived in was a book, and Ji Yunshu was the protagonist described as “a gentleman, warm as jade.”
