The six seasons of "Xia Lan" spanned my entire girlhood, from elementary school through high school. I used to love reading other people's fanfiction, but never thought I'd write any myself. A few days ago, I heard that "Xia Lan" would return early next year. Excited, I looked it up online, only to discover it had been folded into the "Hua Jiang Hu" series. It was a little heartbreaking. I'm not very fond of "Hua Jiang Hu". It feels too mature, and the character designs are rather revealing. What's more, the original protagonists have been reduced to supporting characters. They've all grown up, and they've all become... uglier. Yun Dan's cheeks have been slimmed down and the corners of her eyes cut open. She's lost her elegant beauty and gained a touch of vulgar allure. Shan Gui Yao's hair is greasy, too, no longer as light and carefree as before. I lost interest in an instant and refuse to accept this. Sigh, why go to all that trouble? Didn't the sixth season already wrap things up?
I dedicate this to my favorite couple, Shan Gui Yao x Yun Dan. Before writing, I went back and rewatched the relevant scenes from several seasons (episodes 60, 114, and 151), and they still moved me. While writing, I kept crossing things out and revising them, then revising and crossing them out again. It all feels too mushy. My Uncle Yao's feelings should be restrained and reserved. I just hope I haven't made him too OOC.
Premise:
Finally, someone wrote about this couple. When I watched the anime, I felt that the sexual tension between this pair was really amazing.
I also think that the sixth season is over, and Xia Lan is over. I only saw the stills of "Hua Jiang Hu". . I no longer have the desire to read any more.
