This novel was originally titled Survival Game. After the apocalypse arrives, two million people must compete for two hundred thousand places to survive. Fine, let them compete. But the Federation's top brass, of all things, decide to settle the matter with a game. The female lead is a modified human, the prototype for all modified humans, designated Unit One. Once an invincible top soldier on the apocalyptic battlefield, she's now retired at home, punching her way through the South Mountain Retirement Home and kicking her way through the North Sea Kindergarten. Xu Ningmei (muttering to herself): Honestly, what a fierce shrew. What I really wanted to say was that you're the softest thing in my heart... Ran Zhi (tipping the minced pig's head into the pot, feeling all warm and sweet inside but pretending not to notice): Heehee (love you).
