"I'd rather have a bed in Puxi than a room in Pudong."
"Beautiful Xishuangbanna couldn't keep my father here. Shanghai is so big, yet I have no home."
After her sister died of an illness, Chen Lan boarded a train to Shanghai with a letter of introduction. She was carrying out her sister's last wish: to take her two nieces to their brother-in-law.
On the train, she had an unexpected encounter with soldier Han Shu. With his help, she found her brother-in-law, Liu Bao.
But her brother-in-law had remarried. He refused to acknowledge the children and wouldn't even let them into the house, accusing Chen Lan of being a con artist trying to swindle him.
Chen Lan had no relatives or friends in Shanghai, and her two nieces were still very young. Seeing how pitiful she was, Han Shu offered to marry her and help raise the children.
Han Shu's first wife had passed away, leaving him three sons.
The eldest, Han Heng, was eight years old, extremely fat, and ill-tempered.
The second, Han Shu, was six and had a pleasant disposition, but was sickly.
The third, Han Chen, was three and a half, too young to understand much, and cried all day long.
Who could have imagined that Chen Lan would turn such a terrible hand into a royal flush?
Years later, the eldest, Han Heng, devoted himself to serving his country and earned a first-class merit award.
The second, Han Shu, devoted himself to medicine, saving lives and healing the injured.
The third, Han Chen, devoted himself to law and became a pioneer in the legal world.
And her two nieces?
The elder, Chen Shasha, became the queen of table tennis and married into a wealthy family.
The younger, Chen Zhanzhan, taught at Tsinghua and filled the world with her students.
As for Chen Lan, all she had to do was enjoy the good life. But before she even turned forty, she already owned 666 buildings in Pudong.
Her only problem was having too many properties and too much trouble collecting rent.
Recommended upcoming novel: After Losing My Memory, I Married a Country Bumpkin
Shen Mingmei was the legitimate daughter of the Great General of Zhenyuan. Her maternal grandfather was the Grand Secretary, and her aunt was the imperial concubine who was most favored in the palace. Shen Mingmei herself was so beautiful that flowers paled and peaches and plums gave way before her. She was known as the most beautiful woman in the capital and was the perfect candidate to become Crown Princess.
That was until her maternal grandfather was implicated in a treason case. Her father even sent her mother to prison in the name of justice, then proudly took a new wife.
With nowhere else to turn, Shen Mingmei sought help from Prince Chen Che of Chu, the man she'd once looked down on, broken off her engagement to, and humiliated.
But Chen Che rejected her, too.
In the end, Shen Mingmei had no choice but to follow her exiled mother to the far north. On the way, she encountered bandits and tried to kill herself by smashing her head against a wall. A passing man saved her and took her to the Wolfman tribe.
Atabu was a complete country bumpkin who could barely recognize a handful of characters, but was blessed with great strength. When he realized Shen Mingmei couldn't remember anything, he immediately got an idea. He called her his wife and lied that they were a deeply devoted couple, bound together by an unbreakable love.
Shen Mingmei believed him. She bore him children, and they lived in loving harmony, until one day Crown Prince Chen Sheng found her.
"Ah Heng, it was so hard to find you!"
She remembered everything from her past...
Short scene:
When Shen Mingmei woke up, she was trembling all over, looking delicate and frightened. "Where am I? Who am I?"
Atabu had been looking worried, but suddenly broke into a grin and pulled her into his arms. He gently coaxed her, "Wife, how could you forget your husband? You've made me so sad."
Shen Mingmei's eyes filled with tears. She blinked, her lashes trembling, and held her head in both hands. "Husband? My head hurts. I didn't mean to forget you."
Atabu kissed her forehead. "Don't cry, wife. Your husband will take care of everything. You once said you liked Swallow Island, so I bought it yesterday. Today, I'll give it to you."
Theme:
Oh my God, I just added the beginning after reading it. It's so speechless that I'm so confused. Is the author writing this to take revenge on society?
It's a mess, I was fooled
The novel is like a retard! What is the meaning of Chen Rushi's existence? I really regret reading such a novel.
I sighed, I am really unlucky to have raised this son.
I think this book should be called What to Save You, My Retarded Son.
Demining, this book should be titled Infinite Rebirth: What can I do to save you? My hopeless son, of course, can't be saved. It's one of the weirdest novels I've read in more than ten years of reading. I blame myself for always wanting to see if there will be a change in the future, but I swallowed a fly and couldn't get up...
Was it really written by the author? This is too different. . . . . I followed from Xinwen, but I found that I was blind. How could there be such a crazy fantasy drama!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the most unsightly period novels
I admire the author!! I was able to come up with such a novel after scraping everything together, and I admire myself for reading it!! Plus the hasty ending is awesome!! It's better to learn more and write good articles carefully!
I almost ordered it all and applied for a refund. I have bad reviews about the system and space. There are all kinds of messy settings. The text didn't explain it clearly. I thought it was a chronology. It's a story about gods and monsters. The main line is unclear and the plot is confusing. I wanted to give negative points, but I started to disappear and was blocked.
